We have a diverse client base that allows our team to work on a wide variety of exciting projects. In addition to cost estimating, we provide scheduling support, construction professional services, Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis (CSRA), value engineering, and research studies. We pride ourselves on understanding and anticipating what our clients need to ensure the success of their projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Cost Estimating

Scope the project and address any immediate questions or concerns with the senior estimator and/or client

Set up deliverable templates including front end package and reports

Utilize internal estimating methodology for efficient quantity survey

Perform market research and obtain vendor pricing and quotes

Quality Control: self-check your work and indicate areas of concern to senior estimator

Team Player: Lead projects as well as support projects led by other project estimators

Time Management

Manage multiple priorities with timely submission of deliverables

Convey deliverable due dates to supporting team members and coordinate workload

- Client Management

Maintain constant, professional communication

Independently self-manage services, deliverables and deliverable due dates

Participate in charrettes, workshops, and meetings

Maintain awareness of our contractual obligations and when client requests may be outside of contractual limits

Develop and grow client relationships

Support senior estimators with preparation of proposals

Meet established Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Example KPIs for a Project Cost Estimator I include: maintain assigned client list with no unapproved changes, achieve set billable target rate, and complete project within established budgets.

Regularly coordinate with project managers, operation manager, and business development team.

Maintain project files and contact list in SharePoint according to the HPG process.

Maintain estimating and cost history databases.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering is highly preferred. A combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of degree

2+ years of estimating, cost management, and/or job site experience
-
Experience working on projects of at least $12 million in construction value
-
Strong verbal communication skills including ability to present project information to internal and external stakeholders

Experience estimating a wide range of projects including, but not limited to: federal construction projects, hospitals, and university projects

Experience with MCACES MII, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Crystal Ball, Bluebeam, OnScreen Takeoff, and/or other Estimating Software

Advanced skill level in Excel
-
Possess a membership position in a professional organization such as AFCEA, SAME, etc.
