We have a diverse client base that allows our team to work on a wide variety of exciting projects. In addition to cost estimating, we provide scheduling support, construction professional services, Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis (CSRA), value engineering, and research studies. Position Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimating

    • Scope the project and address any immediate questions or concerns with the senior estimator and/or client

    • Set up deliverable templates including front end package and reports

    • Utilize internal estimating methodology for efficient quantity survey

    • Perform market research and obtain vendor pricing and quotes

    • Knowledgeable in Unit Pricing for 80% of CSI Divisions

    • Independently self-manage services, deliverables and deliverable due dates

    • Quality Control: self-check your work and the work of supporting team members and indicate areas of concern to senior estimator

    • Team Player: Lead projects as well as support projects led by other project estimators

  • Client Management
    • Maintain constant, professional communication

    • Participate in charrettes, workshops, and meetings

    • Maintain awareness of our contractual obligations and when client requests may be outside of contractual limits

    • Manage add service process with clients

    • Develop and grow client relationships

  • Perform Technical Writing

    • Project Write-Ups for Proposals

    • Reports and Studies

    • Project Technical Writing

  • Support senior estimators with preparation of proposals

  • Meet established Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Example KPIs for a Project Cost Estimator I include: maintain assigned client list with no unapproved changes, achieve set billable target rate, and complete project within established budgets.
  • Regularly coordinate with project managers, operation manager, and business development team.

  • Maintain project files and contact list in SharePoint according to the HPG process.

  • Maintain estimating and cost history databases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering is highly preferred. A combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of degree

  • 3+ years of estimating, cost management, and/or job site experience

  • Experience working on projects of at least $50 million in construction value

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including ability to present project information to internal and external stakeholders

  • General understanding of construction parametric pricing, ability to establish estimate markups, and ability to conduct research for internal market conditions assessments and external reports

  • Experience estimating a wide range of projects including, but not limited to: federal construction projects, hospitals, and university projects

  • Experience with MCACES MII, PACES, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Crystal Ball, Bluebeam, OnScreen Takeoff, and/or other Estimating Software

  • Advanced skill level in Excel

• Remote work (with occasional travel for client meetings and company meet-ups)
• Salary Range of $96,000 - $104,000
• 401k (eligible after 90 days of employment)
