We have a diverse client base that allows our team of project managers, estimators, schedulers, mechanical and electrical engineers to work on a wide variety of exciting projects. In addition to cost estimating, we provide scheduling support, construction professional services, facilities engineering and Integrated Automation Systems (IAS), Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis (CSRA), value engineering, and research studies. About You

As a certified commissioning agent, you will be responsible for providing and performing all aspects of the commissioning process for various military construction, healthcare, and university projects. This will include supporting projects through Design Phase, Construction Phase, and Post-Occupancy Phase. Scopes of work may include, but aren’t limited to mechanical, plumbing, electrical distribution, lighting and specialty systems including fire alarm, security, and other enhanced building technology/control systems. To be successful in this role you must be self-motivated, client oriented, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be confident in your ability to effectively develop and manage each commissioning project.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Commissioning
    Scope the project and address any immediate concerns with the client
    Read and interpret construction drawings
    Review of submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings
    Conduct design reviews of project plans and specifications
    Attend site visits and conduct tests as required
    Navigation of various Building Automation Systems (BAS)
    Evaluate and test the performance of various building systems
    Document any commissioning issues and manage their resolution
    Lead commissioning meetings and provide detailed meeting minutes to project team

  • Perform Advanced Technical Writing and Report Preparation
    o Commissioning Reports, Plans, and Studies
    o Systems and O&M Manuals
    o Project Write-Ups for Proposals
    o Project Technical Writing

  • Client Management 
    o Maintain constant, professional communication
    o Actively participate in charrettes, workshops, and meetings

    o Provide client-facing presentations
    o Develop and grow client relationships
    o Develop and respond to commissioning proposals. Provide proposal support to our project managers. This includes providing input on the level of effort needed and providing any necessary technical information on each proposal
    o Meet established Key Performance Indicators (KPI). These are set up on an individual basis and examples for a Certified Commissioning Agent include: responsibility for project P&L, completing projects on schedule, maximizing opportunities with existing clients, etc.
    o Regularly coordinate with project managers, operations manager, and business development team
    o Ability to manage time effectively and complete projects on time

Qualifications

  • One or more of the following commissioning certifications: CxA, BCxP, BCxA, CBCP, CCP

  • 4+ years of commissioning, retro-commissioning, and energy auditing experience

  • LEED and OSHA 30 certification preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • Ability to travel part of time. Vehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance required

  • Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD

  • Detail oriented

  • Time Management – use time effectively and efficiently, can attend to a broader range of activities, gets more done in less time than others

  • Diligent worker and team player ‐ No task too small. Getting the job done and exceeding client expectations is the key to integrating successfully into our team

  • Experience working on projects in a collaborative team setting
