Position Description

Seeking an experienced, licensed Architect to perform all aspects of architectural design support to include evaluations, recommendations, and inspections of building facilities and systems. Quality Assurance oversight and onsite inspections as required to include the possibility of travel to base locations throughout Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and New York. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in the same or similar role. Highly qualified candidates will have experience working within the federal sector, specifically with USACE.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legislation

  • Permit Processing

  • Utility Coordination

  • Periodic oversight of Contractor Quality Control (QC) system

  • Construction Administration Support

  • Periodic On-site Quality Assurance Inspections

  • Preparing Reports

  • Attend Weekly QA/QC Meetings

  • Review of Contract Documents

  • Review of Shop Drawings/ Submittals

  • Review of Schedules/ QC Plans

  • Review and Reporting of Construction Contractor Claims

  • Assures timely corrections of deficiencies when presented

Qualifications

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with team members (verbal and written)

  • Licensed Architect

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture

  • Minimum 5 years of Construction Quality Assurance and Inspections

  • Knowledge of building codes and standards

  • Federal construction experience with military facilities

  • Vertical infrastructure experience- projects ranging from hospitals to hangars

  • Experience with USACE’s Resident Management System (RMS)

  • AutoCAD experience

  • BIM (REVIT) experience

  • Sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines

  • Experience with MS Excel and Word
