In addition to cost estimating, we provide scheduling support, construction professional services, Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis (CSRA), value engineering, and research studies. Position Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimating

    • Scope the project and address any immediate questions or concerns with the senior estimator and/or client

    • Set up deliverable templates including front end package and reports

    • Utilize required HPG estimating methodology and techniques for efficient quantity survey

    • Perform market research and obtain vendor pricing and quotes

    • Knowledgeable in Unit Pricing for 80% of CSI Divisions

    • Knowledgeable in Parametric Cost Ranges for all CSI Divisions with-in project type specialization

    • Independently self-manage services, deliverables and deliverable due dates

    • Quality Control: self-check your work and the work of supporting team members and indicate areas of concern to senior estimator. Recognize appropriate ranges for unit pricing, overall costs and overall construction durations

    • Team Player: Lead projects as well as support projects led by other project estimators

  • Time Management​

    • Manage multiple priorities with timely submission of deliverables

    • Ability to delegate quantity surveying tasks directly with cost estimators

    • Convey deliverable due dates to supporting team members and coordinate workload

  • Client Management

    • Maintain constant, professional communication

    • Participate in charrettes, workshops, and meetings

    • Maintain awareness of our contractual obligations and when client requests may be outside of contractual limits

    • Prepare proposals and add service amendments independently

    • Develop and grow client relationships in an effort to drive repeat business

  • Perform Technical Writing

    • ​Project Write-Ups for Proposals

    • ​Reports and Studies

    • Project Technical Writing

  • Meet established Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Example KPIs for a Project Cost Estimator III include: maintain assigned client list with no unapproved changes, achieve billable target rate, and complete 80% of all projects within established budgets.

  • Regularly coordinate with project managers, operation manager, and business development team.

  • Maintain project files and contact list in SharePoint according to the HPG process.

  • Maintain estimating and cost history databases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering is highly preferred. A combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of degree

  • 3+ years of estimating, cost management, and/or job site experience

  • Experience working on projects of at least $250 million in construction value

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including ability to present project information to internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong listening skills capable of understanding and fulfilling client requests and supervisor directives

  • General understanding of construction parametric pricing, ability to establish estimate markups, and ability to conduct research for internal market conditions assessments and external reports

  • Understanding of inflation, escalation and effect to construction costs

  • Experience estimating a wide range of projects including, but not limited to: federal construction projects, hospitals, and university projects

  • Experience with MCACES MII, PACES, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Crystal Ball, Bluebeam, OnScreen Takeoff, and/or other Estimating Software

  • Advanced skill level in Excel, including ability to customize excel estimate template with formulas, formatting and structure to meet client bespoke requirements

• Salary Range of $104,000 - $134,000
